EVS Scholarships and Grants

EVS offers a variety of scholarships and grants to eligible applicants for the Annual Meeting each year. These are the current offerings for the 2026 Annual Meeting of EVS being held at The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC from September 17 - 19, 2026.

Allied Health Scholarship

The Eastern Vascular Society is excited to launch the 2026 Allied Health Scholarship, supporting advanced practice providers and allied health professionals involved in vascular care as they attend the EVS Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. This new initiative is designed to foster professional growth, interdisciplinary collaboration, mentorship, and leadership development within the vascular surgery community. Scholarship recipients will have the opportunity to engage directly with vascular surgeons, APPs, trainees, and industry leaders through educational sessions, networking events, simulation activities, and collaborative discussions focused on advancing excellence in patient care.

As part of this dedicated program, recipients will participate in the Allied Health Program on Friday, September 18, 2026, while remaining actively involved throughout the full Annual Meeting experience. In addition to financial support to help offset travel expenses, the program is intended to encourage long-term engagement within EVS through mentorship, committee involvement, and future leadership opportunities. Eligible applicants are encouraged to apply by July 22, 2026, and join EVS in shaping the future of multidisciplinary vascular care.

Early Career Surgeon Scholarship

The Eastern Vascular Society (EVS) is proud to continue its dedicated initiative supporting early-career vascular surgeons within the first five years of practice at this year’s Annual Meeting. Recognizing the unique challenges that accompany the transition from training to independent practice, EVS remains committed to fostering professional growth, leadership development, and long-term engagement within our Society.

The Early Career Surgeon Scholarship includes a focused half-day educational session the day prior to the official start of the Annual Meeting centered on career advancement, leadership development, and practical strategies for navigating early practice. This is followed by a networking dinner that evening, offering scholars the opportunity to connect directly with EVS leadership and industry partners.

In addition to these targeted sessions, participants are expected to attend key Annual Meeting events, including breakfast sessions, guided exhibit hall engagement, the veins session, and other highlighted programming designed to maximize professional exposure and involvement. Scholars also receive financial support to offset meeting-related expenses. We encourage eligible early-career surgeons to apply and take advantage of this valuable opportunity.

Early Career Surgeon Scholarship Information

Professional Development Grant

The Eastern Vascular Society (EVS) is committed to supporting the Career Development of its members. The goal of the Society is to help its members reach positions of leadership at institutional, local, regional, and national levels.

To this end, the EVS Career Development Grant, in collaboration with industry, are offering a grant for surgeons desiring to develop or improve their leadership skills.

Three awards of $5,000 each will be provided to three EVS Active Members. These awards can be used for travel, hotel accommodations, and registration expenses to attend specific courses and/or other leadership training and development opportunities and activities.

2026 EVS Professional Development Grant

Research Seed Grant

The purpose of this grant is to support early and mid-career investigators who are interested in conducting clinical, basic, and translational studies. Clinical research projects can include but are not limited to quality-improvement projects, patient-reported outcomes, health policy research, or health economics. Translational research can be conducted with human subjects, disease state models, or on the material of human origins such as tissues, specimens, and cognitive phenomena for which an investigator directly interacts with human subjects. Basic science research which utilizes animal models relevant to human disease is also encouraged.

Applications must include a public health impact section that reflects the significance and applicability of the proposed research plan to the care and management of vascular patients. This can include improved diagnostics, care management plans, novel therapeutic design, etc.

Supports Clinical Research (SVS Priority) Projects for early investigators.

One $25,000 reward towards Applicant's & PI's Institution

2026 EVS Research Seed Grant

Student, Resident & Fellow Case Report Contest

The Eastern Vascular Society sponsors a case report contest for students and trainees in vascular surgery. The Society will give two awards, one to a surgical trainee and one to a medical student, for the best vascular case report in each category. The Young Surgeons Committee of the Eastern Vascular Society will select cases to be presented at the 2026 Annual Meeting in Washington,DC. Selected participants must be registered for the annual meeting.

Applicants should be from member institutions located in the Eastern Vascular Society's geographical area or sponsored by an active member of the Eastern Vascular Society and be either a medical student or a surgical trainee (general surgery resident or vascular surgery resident/fellow) at the time of submission.

Submissions should be in Microsoft Word format as an abstract of no more than 350 words and 4 figures. Selected participants will then be required to prepare a 5 minute presentation to be given live (no virtual option) at the Young Surgeon's Case Competition.

2026 EVS Student, Resident, & Fellow Case Report Contest

Trainee Travel Scholarship

The Eastern Vascular Society is pleased to offer a travel scholarship for medical students, surgical residents, and vascular surgery fellows to attend the 40th annual meeting in Washington, DC. We invite all qualified applicants to submit an application to include a brief personal statement expressing their interest in vascular surgery and how attending the annual meeting will further their training and career interests.

Scholarship winners will receive a stipend to cover a portion of the costs of attending the annual meeting. Receipt of funds will be contingent on attendance and full participation in the trainee curriculum at the annual meeting.
